Welcome to STAR Transit, an organization whose sole purpose is to provide safe, dependable, efficient and affordable transportation to the citizens and visitors of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Our staff is dedicated to making your ride as enjoyable as possible. We take great pride in our bus service and will do whatever it takes to get you safely from here to there!

Announcements

STAR Transit has moved from its former Parksley office to their new office in Tasley (21250 Cooperative Way, Tasley, VA 23441). This relocation has been an on going project since June of 2002. STAR Transit is expecting to be in its new building on the first of February.

Cancellations & No Shows

If you must cancel a trip that you have scheduled, please call the dispatcher at 665-1994 as soon as possible to notify us of the cancellation. This will avoid unnecessary overhead costs and make your seat available to others in need of a ride.

STAR Transit reserves the right to suspend transportation to individuals who excessively fail to call in with cancellations. This is called a NO-SHOW.

Holiday Service

STAR Transit doesn't provide transportation on the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Physically Impaired Service Available

All of STAR Transit's regular buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Applications are available to those who require deviated fixed route services. With an approved ADA Application, STAR Transit will deviate up to 1.5 miles from the closest fix-ed route stop. We also offer reduced fare for people age 62 and over and any qualified person with a disability. Please call our office for a applications. For those riders who require a deviation from the regular route, we would appreciate a call several hours ahead.

Bicycle Racks

STAR Transit has external bicycle racks to accommodate bicyclists who need to use the bus. You must receive permission to use the bicycle rack from the driver prior to mounting your bicycle. Please secure your bicycle by latching the main frame bar onto the bicycle rack using straps or bungie cords (some provided) . STAR Transit cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to your bicycle. Use at your own risk. Also, please be cautious not to cause damage to the bus while using these racks.

STAR Transit is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
